What to Expect from Skin Lesion Surgery

Electrodesiccation: Heating and removing unwanted lesions on the skin’s surface, such as seborrheic keratosis and sebaceous hyperplasia. Sometimes followed by curettage.

Curettage: Scraping off softer or distinct lesions like seborrheic keratoses, viral warts, actinic keratoses, and skin tags.

Excision: Precise cutting out of lesions without damaging healthy tissue.

We utilize Pro-Nox, which is an FDA-cleared analgesia that delivers 50% nitrous oxide and 50% oxygen, that safely and effectively eases pain, anxiety, and discomfort associated with minor skin surgery.

Post-Surgery Care

After your procedure:

  • Keep the treated area clean by gently washing with mild soap and water.
  • Apply Vaseline multiple times daily to any raw areas until fully healed, usually within a week.

Potential Side Effects

While complications are rare, possible risks include:

  • Temporary darkening or lightening of treated skin.
  • Minor bleeding or infection.
  • Occasional scarring.
